This isn't yesterday - this is today. Today you participated in your first karate tournament. First was forms and then was sparring. Though I think you did well enough to earn a silver medal, you came in fourth out of about fifteen. In sparring you made it past the first round, but then got beat. For all the times we tell you at home to NOT be so aggressive, it appears that you're applying that lesson in the wrong arena. Literally. You handled the disappoint really really well, telling me that you held in your tears until you got outside and even then you held it together. I can tell you were disappointed, but you appear to be over it at this point. I, however, am heartbroken for you, and am taking this helicopter parent lesson to heart.
